OFFICIAL BIO:

SCOT HEATHMAN is a dynamic SPEAKER, retired USAF COLONEL and strategic LEADER renowned for his ability to inspire and transform INDIVIDUALS and ORGANIZATIONS.

J. Scot Heathman’s life is marked by a desire to shoot for the skies. Raised in Minnesota with traditional Midwest values, he was an active participant in school, sports, and his community. However, his greatest passion emerged at just 3 years old, when he saw Star Wars in the theater for the first time. That day, he knew he was destined to fly airplanes. This dream prompted a 25-year career in the Air Force, during which time he became a combat instructor pilot and base commander serving nearly 14,000 personnel.

Throughout his career, Scot learned the importance of empathy & resiliency, developing into a well-respected servant leader. In January 2019, however, his grit would be put to the ultimate test. Following a car accident, doctors discovered a brain tumor. He spent the year under intense observation, followed by a 10-hour surgery and 30 rounds of radiation, all while serving as the Commander of an Air Force Base. This experience taught him how impactful his own lessons could be in inspiring others and prompted a unique opportunity to elevate others.

How engaged is your team… really??

In 2022, Scot retired from the Air Force and set out to bring his own ideas of courage and a proven leadership style to help corporate leaders command their own culture.

Today, Scot empowers executives to front-line leaders to Command with Courage so they can develop cultures of high trust, promote exceptional accountability, and drive extraordinary performance.

His Jedi-level leadership programs inspire his clients to lead with relatability and respect so they can embrace their vulnerability for positive change.

Scot has Master's degrees in Organizational Leadership, Operational Planning & Strategy, and National Security & Strategic Studies, and is certified in Emotional Intelligence, designed to take leadership performance to the highest altitudes.  He’s also the author of the upcoming book Command With Courage about growing resilience and elevating beyond adversity.
